2009 Pre-ASH Report
November 30, 2009
Highlights of this year’s meeting will include updates to the induction and maintenance regimens for multiple myeloma preliminary data for and a number of novel compounds. The primary focus of the BioMedTracker ASH meeting coverage will be on multiple myeloma and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
Multiple myeloma, commonly a central theme at the ASH meeting, will be a highlight again this year. The value of Revlimid maintenance therapy will be addressed in a number of Phase III studies and should establish the importance of using this compound for that phase of treatment. Presentations on new compounds for treating multiple myeloma will include those on the follow-on drugs Actimid and Carfilzomib, as well as a number of compounds with novel targets. In non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, updated results of a trial comparing Treanda plus Rituxan versus the standard of care in indolent lymphomas could aid in moving Treanda towards the front-line treatment setting.
Please note that the abstracts summarizing the trial data presented at ASH are available for review on the ASH website. As conference data are still embargoed, we are prohibited from analyzing the data until the actual presentations are made at ASH, but we have highlighted what we think are the most relevant clinical studies. We have also included a list of other pertinent talks and posters.
Drugs in this report are listed by: Brand name (Company) - Current Phase, followed by the name of the study being presented at ASH (Abstract #).
