The Endocrinologic and Metabolic Drugs Advisory Committee met today to discuss the safety and efficacy of new drug application, with the proposed trade name Lorqess (lorcaserin), as an adjunct to diet and exercise for weight management in overweight and obese patients.

The committee had a negative vote on whether to recommend Lorqess for approval. Nine members voted to not recommend and five members voted for recommendation of Lorqess.
