2010 Pre-ASH Report
November 30, 2010
The ASH meeting typically has a strong focus on multiple myeloma, and we have highlighted five key drugs presenting new data for this disease. Revlimid continues its expanded use in multiple myeloma, with data being presented for its use as front-line therapy and as a single-agent maintenance therapy. Like Revlimid, Velcade is also moving into a role as a preferred front-line therapy and will be featured in three Phase III presentations. For patients refractory to Velcade treatment, carfilzomib is presenting study data for its use in this population.
Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL) is also a central theme at ASH, and we have highlighted six NHL drugs. Treanda is moving to surpass CHOP as the standard of care for indolent and mantle cell lymphomas and will have an updated study release. Long-term data from the FIT trial evaluating Zevalin as a single-agent consolidation treatment will also be presented. Istodax is moving towards approval for NHL and will have first time data released from a Phase II study.
Please note that the abstracts summarizing the trial data presented at ASH are available for review on the ASH website. As conference data are still embargoed, we are prohibited from analyzing the data until the actual presentations are made at ASH, but we have highlighted what we think are the most relevant clinical studies. We have also included a list of other pertinent talks and posters.
