The Endocrinologic and Metabolic Drugs Advisory Committee met today to discuss the safety and efficacy of Contrave (buproprion/naltrexone) as an adjunct to diet and exercise for weight management in overweight and obese patients.

The committee had a positive but mixed vote on whether to recommend Contrave for approval. Thirteen members voted to recommend and seven members voted against the recommendation of Contrave.
