New Evaluated Company - Lexicon Pharmaceuticals (LXRX)
April 05, 2011
We have added Lexicon Pharmaceuticals to our evaluated company list. Founded in
1995, Lexicon initially focused on discovering drugs based on its proprietary gene knockout
technology, which allows for the high-throughput generation of a library of mice with specific
gene disruptions. In 2007, the company changed its name from Lexicon Genetics to
Lexicon Pharmaceuticals to reflect its new priorities of drug development and
commercialization.
Lexicon has several novel Phase II drugs in its pipeline. These are LX4211 for Type 2 diabetes, LX1031 for irritable bowel syndrome, LX2931 for rheumatoid arthritis, and LX1032 for neuroendocrine tumors.
