CAR-T has become an established commercial category, though its growth is increasingly concentrated in a narrowing set of products, while several earlier-generation therapies are forecast to decline. This report traces CAR-T's path from Eshhar's first chimeric antigen receptor in 1989 through this year's approval of satri-cel, the first solid-tumor CAR-T (in China). It covers where the class is under competitive pressure from bispecifics and ADCs on convenience, the reimbursement gaps still limiting access across Europe, and the next wave of innovation, including in vivo CAR-T platforms drawing heavy acquisition interest and CAR-NK as an off-the-shelf alternative.
